Cox Media Newsletter March 2006
Friday, March 31, 2006, 10:11 PM

My apologies for not publishing my newsletter recently but I have been busy competing in our major national Bridge tournaments, providing numerous interviews to the media and even doing some work. I promised not to unnecessarily increase the amount of information you already receive but the Minister announced today her new media policy.

Media Interviews
The last couple of months I have been busy with media interviews including the death of Kerry Packer, the AFL rights contest, the Jessica Rowe court action, Vega radio station, Bert Newton returning to Nine and the FTA ratings war. Interviews have included ABC TV News, SBS News, 7.30 Report, numerous ABC radio, AM, 2UE, the Australian, Sunday Telegraph, Sun-Herald, Daily Telegraph, Brisbane Courier Mail and the Adelaide Advertiser. Thanks to the media for their support.

Kerry Packer 1937-2005
I have put together links to many of the major stories on the life and times of Kerry Packer in a special section for those who may have missed some of the coverage whilst on holidays.

ABC Bias
I have had a busy time doing interviews on Packer and the AFL over the last week including on ABC Radio, ABC TV News, the 7.30 Report , SBS News, Seven News, Rachel Browne for the Sun Herald and the consumate professional, Steve Liebmann on 2UE. The only time I have concerns with bias is with the ABC.

In over 25 years of being interviewed on literally hundreds of occasions I have been very lucky to have been seldom misquoted. In newspaper articles the journalists often express my concepts better than I can. When dealing with the commercial television and radio networks and ABC radio seldom am I asked my views in advance

AFL Rights Battle
All week I have been advocating in the media to Kerry Stokes not to overfinesse his offer for the AFL rights but to meet exactly the Nine offer in every detail otherwise it would escape. It looks as though Seven have successfully done that.we look at the implications for all the networks.
